Welcome to the Kidlington Gardening Society home page. The Society was formed in 1860 when the first Flower Show was held. (See history page) We are a friendly group who meet on the first Wednesday of the month (except August) at the St John Ambulance Headquarters, High Street, Kidlington, at 7-45 pm.

Each month we invite a guest speaker to talk about a garden or plant related subject. (See diary) have a small fun competition with prizes, a raffle and during a break in the proceedings refreshments. We organize occasional trips out and other social events including a social evening in January. There is a monthly news letter and an annual plant and cake sale.

The Society’s motto is “Friendship Through Gardening” The objects of the Society are to promote good gardening practices among its members. a) Holding regular Meetings for lectures, discussion and demonstrations. b) Holding Horticultural shows and competitions. c) Arrange visits to gardens and other sites to observe gardening in practice. The Society holds an annual (Village type) show in Exeter Hall which attracts entries into a variety of classes including flowers, vegetables, floral art, jams, home baking, art, craft, photography and wine making. The Society is also affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society and proud of having being invited to enter in the hanging basket and window box class at Hampton Court and previously at Chelsea Flower Shows this has resulted in one silver and three bronze medals.
