Our vision: To see in Banburyshire a growing crowd of young Christians, running the marathon of lifelong faith with their eyes fully fixed on Jesus
Our aim is: To proclaim the gospel to young people, to encourage young people to live for the gospel every day and to focus on the last day.
Our purpose: To empower and encourage our youth to grow in faith and share the Good news with their generation. To complement and support the individual churches in nurturing our young people in their journey with Jesus.
Target group: We encourage 'Churched children' to come, focussing on building a desire to know God even more so that they can go out and bring others in. Consequently we are aiming PULSE at a Christian audience, but pray that the environment does not put up barriers, so that God's word can be heard by non Christians who come. However, It must be stressed at the outset that PULSE is not a church and doesn’t have any desire to take the place of the churches. The PULSE team sees it role as preparatory through introducing the non-churched young people to God’s Kingdom and encouraging them to then find a church/youth group that suits them where they can be nurtured in their journey with God.
PULSE is held monthly on the second Sunday of every month from 7 till 9p.m. It is held at the Peoples' Church (previously Banbury Baptist Church). At the moment the structure is a 15 minute 'chill' at the beginning. Then an hour and a half comprised of praise and worship, a talk, creative prayers and other up front items to illustrate the point, such as testimonies, drama, music etc.
The age of young people allowed to attend is 13 – 19 years with perhaps the majority of those attending being in the 14 – 15 year old group.
