Mission Statement
To envision, help and facilitate local
churches in the evangelism and
discipleship of young people (11-19
year olds), and to support, encourage
and resource this youth work in the
community and surrounding villages.
Vision
Ø To see a growing crowd of young
Christians running the marathon of
lifelong faith with their eyes fixed
on Jesus, through the provision of an
ecumenical support base to a Christian
life;
Ø To see young Christians in the area
reaching out with their faith and
bringing their peers into God’s family.
Ø To see Youth Leaders from all the
churches coming together to work as
the Body of Christ to bring Jesus to
all young people;
Ø To establish God’s Kingdom in the
lives of all young people in Banbury
and the surrounding villages.
Aims
Ø To see local churches taking active
responsibility for the discipleship of
their young people
Ø To encourage local churches to work
together in providing Christian
outreach into all the secondary
schools in the area, colleges of
further education and other places
where young people might meet.
Ø To encourage the young people to
participate in the community projects
Impact’s Core Values
Ø seek, in everything we do, to
further God’s Kingdom rather than
individual churches;
Ø be an interdenominational
organisation supporting and being
supported by all churches in the local
area;
Ø through each of our activities,
help young people to come to know God
and enter into a close relationship
with him;
Ø endeavour to ensure that more young
people in our communities come to hear
God’s good news;
Ø facilitate and promote the
development of youth work using local
resources within all sectors of the
community, its churches and its
surrounding villages
Impact’s Basis of Faith
Recognising the diversity of theology
represented by the churches supporting
Impact, after prayerful consideration,
the Churches Together Basis of Faith
was adopted by Impact. This is :
· Acknowledging God’s
revelation in Christ, we confess the
Lord Jesus Christ as God and Saviour
according to the Scriptures, and, in
obedience to God’s will and in the
power of the Holy Spirit commit
ourselves:
Ø to seek a deepening of our
communion with Christ and with one
another in the Church, which is his
body; and
Ø to fulfil our mission to proclaim
the Gospel by common witness and
service in the world
Ø to the glory of the one God,
Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
· the authority comes from
the Bible.
· all teaching is from the
Bible not adding to it or taking away
from the glorious word of God.
· teach to the head and
heart and hands of the young people.
· to have a passion to see
young people live faithful lives for
our Lord and Saviour Jesus
Impact’s Youth Worker Vision
We have a Vision for churches - to
provide paid or voluntary youth
workers in their churches and
secondary schools.
We have a vision for 4 full-time
salaried youth workers dedicated to
reaching out with the gospel to, and
working with, the students of our 4
secondary schools (Warriner, Banbury,
Drayton, Chenderit). Funding to be
sourced from existing donors,
individual people, individual churches
and ‘parachurch’ organisations e.g.
Deanery, Regional Circuit, Diocese,
local companies, and acceptable
national funding sources.
Their job description will be to
spread the good news of Jesus by:
Ø working in partnership with the
schools as much as is possible;
Ø helping to provide the OFSTED
required ‘spirituality’ input’;
Ø acting as unofficial ‘chaplains’;
Ø helping the schools to provide pre
and after school provision;
Ø teaching in classes; and providing
lunchtime clubs, assemblies etc.
