Mobile Cinema
The Seniors Mobile Cinema is a product
of the Seniors Forums in which a need
was identified for activies for
seniors groups who would otherwise be
unable to travel to a venue to take
part in an activity.
The Seniors Mobile Cinema was launched
in May 2005 and has proved to be
extremely popular. Since 2005 over
10,000 people have attended the mobile
cinema. It is a 6ft x 6ft big screen
mobile projector that any seniors
group, organisation, day centre of
sheltered accommodation can book to
watch a DVD of their choice. A list
is held of the most popular films that
have been requested however any film
of your choice can be selected
provided it is on DVD and two weeks
notice is given.
This service is provided completely
free of charge and a member of
Cherwell District Council’s Community
Development Team will come along to
your venue to set up the equipment and
present the DVD.
