Banbury & District National Trust Association currently has about 260 members who come from Banbury and the surrounding villages. Our objectives are to promote the National Trust locally, to raise funds in its support, and to arrange a programme of events and activities to enrich members’ understanding of its work. The Association is independent of the National Trust: its affairs are conducted by a committee of officers and members who are elected at our annual general meeting held in March each year.
From September to March the Banbury Association meets at 7.30 pm on the fourth Thursday of every month (except December) at the Cornhill Centre (formerly the Banbury Old People's Club) in Castle Street in Banbury. Meetings include talks on a range of heritage subjects and allow members to socialise with like-minded people. In summer we arrange day visits and short-break holidays to places of interest. We also hold the occasional social and fundraising events throughout the year. Many of our members also provide volunteer support for the National Trust by working as stewards at properties and helping with events.
The Banbury Association welcomes new members. To join the Banbury Association you must first be a member of the National Trust or an affiliated organisation such as the National Trust for Scotland. The annual membership rate is £7 per person or £13 for two people living at the same address. In return for their subscription members can attend talks, receive three newsletters a year and receive details of our programme of events, such as day visits and holidays, for which there is an additional charge. To find out about joining please contact our Membership Secretary whose details are given below. We look forward to meeting you!
