Tucked away on the Oxford Canal at Cropredy is one of Britains most successful canoe clubs. Banbury & District Canoe Club caters for everyone, from total beginners to junior internationals. Our youngest member is 7, and the oldest 77.
We are mainly a racing club, with the main focus being marathon racing (distances of two miles upward). We also compete at sprints (as seen at the Olympics) and Wild Water Racing (canoeing's equivalent of downhill skiiing). If you don't fancy racing, we also do plenty of touring. A leisurely pace, normally with a pub involved, and sometimes camping trips.
THere's lots to tell you about the club. Have a look at our detailed and regularly updated website. There's even a picture of someone paddling in a giant Yorkshire pudding. Honest!
