The civil parish of Arncott is made up of the two villages of Upper and Lower Arncott (Arncot - see History), as mentioned in the Domesday Book, although latterly known as Arncott. The picture (above) is of the Village Windmill which sadly no longer exists. The Village has a Village Hall (available for functions)with a new childrens playpark (provided by extensive fundraising over the past couple of years), Football team, Shop, a Pub (The Plough) and a Hotel (The Tally Ho).
The Village has had a close association with the MOD and the Army since the Second World War when Land was requisitioned for a Storage Distribution Site (see History page) which is still in use.
